The Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC) is a community-based non-profit organization that enhances resources and opportunities for South Los Angeles residents. Established in 1979 as a citizen advisory committee by Mayor Tom Bradley, VSEDC resulted from the community’s concern after the closing of Sear’s department store, which served as an economic cornerstone.

COVID-19 has taken everyone by surprises.  Those hardest impacted are the businesses that have been forced to closed and those employees suffering from unexpected loss of income. If these times have hit your business hard, VSEDC can help.

Entrepreneurship can be daunting and often confusing.  VSEDC offers you Business Coaching from experienced professionals that have the expertise to help you get on the right track.

The Entrepreneurial Training Program consists of a 3-week Level I Training Class & a 8-week Level II Business Plan Writing. A certificate of completion is awarded upon satisfactory attendance, and submission of requirements.

VSEDC has proudly received the distinction as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) making it one of the only non-profits in South Los Angeles authorized to assess and distribute funding.
