Summer refresh –
Take a look at two new free webinars at VSEDC for social media marketing, and how to run a small business.

Just last month you met our new VSEDC colleague Jonathan Kinnard in a previous blog story. Well, he’s back in the blog because he has just launched two new free webinars for entrepreneurs and small business owners we think you will find useful: Social Media Tools webinar, and Entrepreneurship 101 webinar

I sat down with Jonathan the other day to ask him what entrepreneurs and small businesses owners need to know about the new webinars he is leading.

VSEDC – It seems like everyone nowadays knows how to work social media. Why should someone take this class?

Jonathan Kinnard – It’s true that we all have familiarity with social media, but we don’t all know how to use it to market our businesses effectively. There are some useful tools out there for small businesses to use. In the webinar, we will be going over various marketing strategies and the tools to execute these strategies. I will also demonstrate how to run a successful campaign on Facebook/Meta and Instagram. Finally, we will cover the new Facebook Marketplace.

After the session, you will know how to run your first social media marketing campaign on Facebook/Meta and Instagram.

VSEDC – Who should attend the Social Media webinar?

JK – As a small business owner (Coffee del Mundo), I find social media marketing impactful to my bottom line.

The free, two-hour webinar was designed for business owners who need a basic understanding of marketing and advertising on social media. Anyone with an interest in managing social media for a company should register.

VSEDC – This sounds really useful for a small business. When should we register?

JK – Folks should register now! The webinar is on July 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. I hope to see a lot of startups and small businesses there.

VSEDC – Tell us who should take Entrepreneurship 101.

JK – Like most of our webinars and core curriculum, Entrepreneurship 101 is designed for entrepreneurs and small businesses. You could be a start-up. You could be thinking about a start-up. Or you could already be running a small business and need a refresher.

VSEDC – What aspects of running a business will Entrepreneurship 101 cover?

JK – We will be covering the basic areas to run your business: Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Accounting, Finance, and Management.

VSEDC – What knowledge should folks expect to walk away with?

JK – After the session, you will be familiar with the best practices of running a business in today’s post-pandemic world.

VSEDC – When is the Entrepreneurship 101 webinar and where can I sign up?

JK – The first class meets this month, July 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The August class will meet on August 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

We think there is going to be a lot of appetite for this webinar, and have planned to offer the class once a month. If you miss it this month, no worries! You can take it next month, or the month after…

VSEDC – Thank you for keeping us up to date, Jonathan!

Jonathan – My pleasure! I’m looking forward to leading these seminars and meeting new entrepreneurs and business owners.
