LA Region Small Business Summit Draws an Unprecedented Crowd

Last week, members of our team at Vermont Slauson headed to the Los Angeles Region Small Business Summit. The summit is the first of its kind, created by the Los Angeles City Economic and Workforce Development Department, the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, and the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity to celebrate National Small Business Week.

Among the vendors who participated in the Small Business Summit, we are particularly proud to spotlight our clients, Tortacos Cansado del Camino and Dulan’s Soul Food, who each brought their own food trucks to the event to serve the crowds of small business owners.

Esther Elizondo, VSEDC Program Coordinator, attended the LA Region Small Business Summit and noted the large attendance.

“I loved the event, especially since it was full of our clients. I’ve been to a lot of similar events in the past, but there hasn’t been nearly as much turnout.”

The LA Region Small Business Summit was a value-packed experience for small businesses. The event’s keynote speaker was none other than Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass. On-site services included legal aid and consultation, a business certification clinic, business assessments, credit and debit consultation, and procurement support. Plus, businesses were afforded the opportunity to pitch their companies and apply to win for grants.
