Entrepreneurial Training Program


The Entrepreneurial Training Program consists of the 3-week Level I Entrepreneurial Training Class and the 8-week Level II Business Plan Writing. Level I is geared toward emerging entrepreneurs who are interested in starting a business but need guidance to narrow their idea, determine feasibility and lay a solid foundation for business success. Level II trains individuals who are already clear on their business idea and may have already established a business, and wish to create a business plan to secure financing or strategically plan for business growth. An overview of the course content appears below:


Level I – Entrepreneurial Training

(3 weeks, 2-hour sessions)

Level II – Business Plan Writing

(8 weeks, 3-hour sessions)

  • Raising Capital & Financial Planning

Farid A. Haqq, Managing Director of Farid A. Haqq & Company

Mr. Haqq possesses 20+ years in entrepreneurial training and small business development for businesses such as manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and service companies in the areas of access to capital for government contract procurement, management operations assessment and technical assistance. He began his career as vice president and chief credit officer in commercial banking, and attended the Pacific Coast Banking School (Graduate School of Banking), is a graduate of the National Installment Credit School and the National Compliance School of the American Banking Association.



Frank Sutton of Frank Sutton Consulting

Mr. Sutton has 20 years experience in entrepreneurial training, business plan development and review, marketing, financial management, expansion, lease negotiation, and feasibility studies. With a background in banking and finance as well as nonprofit program development, he has extensive management competencies and also teaches courses in nonprofit development and grant writing. Mr. Sutton earned an MBA from Pacific Western University and attended the London School of Economics.



A certificate of completion is awarded upon satisfactory attendance, and submission of required coursework and eligibility documents. The certificate can be utilized to demonstrate to prospective lenders that entrepreneurial training has been undertaken.
